Azodicarbonamide

This chemical -- which is also used to make rubber yoga mats -- can be found in a staggering 500 food products in the U.S., with Subway making headlines last year when it announced it was removing it from its sandwich bread.

This chemical has been poorly tested. When bread is baked with this chemical there are two suspicious chemicals that form: Semicarbazide and Urethane both found to be cancer causing (carcinogen) in animal studies.

It appears that the Delaney amendment, which bars the use of additives that cause cancer in humans or animals, would require FDA to bar its use.
